A Henry’s bag is a mark of craftsmanship. We began with a commitment to reviving American craftsmen and American manufacturing. We partner with a factory in Connecticut that has continuously made leathergoods for over 40 years. The same is true of our factory in Florence. Come to our any of our factories and you won’t see automation; you’ll see hand-made. Our craftsmen are experts in old-world leatherworking techniques. We believe there’s only one way of doing things, and that’s by hand – not by cutting corners.
We use global partners because we are committed to sourcing the finest materials. Leathers come from France, hardware from Italy and zippers from Switzerland. And we select only those manufacturing partners who match our own values, with careful consideration to fair labor practices and good working conditions in their factories. We are actively engaged with the management of these overseas facilities and encourage our partners to commit to social and environmental sustainability as a tenet of their corporate philosophies.
Additionally, Henry’s Leather Co. is a member of the Fair Labor Association (FLA). The FLA is a collaborative effort of brands, manufacturers, civil society organizations and socially responsible companies dedicated to protecting workers’ rights around the world. We look towards the FLA as an active partner in promoting social and environmental sustainability in the lives of our workers and our factories.
